30 years ago today, International Business Machines announced the release of a new product: A personal computer. Reading about this thing is truly amazing. The basic model came with 16 kb of "user memory", which I can only assume is analogous to hard drives today (my home PC has just north of 3 Tb of hard drive space...). The computer could only display 256 characters of text in 12 "type styles".
I wonder if those guys could have thought that one day their new productivity-enhancing machine would be used almost exclusively for this.

A few of my favorite things
There are some things that I really love. America is one, so by extension, I love reading about our brave men and women in uniform. Dogs are another (no, Kate, we still can't get one). So, how could I not post an article about a marine dog?
This dog was born in an American FOB in Afghanistan, and now it goes out with Marines on patrol. There just aren't words to describe how awesome that is.
